JEWELRY CARE

How to take care of my jewelry?

To keep your pieces in the best condition, follow these precautions:

  • Avoid applying perfume, alcohol or derivatives on jewelry.
  • Do not wear them if you exercise, go to the pool or the beach, as sweat, chlorine and salt can stain your jewelry.
  • Clean the jewelry after use with a soft cloth.
  • Avoid sleeping with jewelry on.
  • Store jewelry in individual soft cloth bags.
  • Avoid impacting jewelry on hard surfaces so that they do not scratch.

  • To clean them, use mild soap and warm water, rub them carefully with a cloth and they will shine again.
  • Another way (in the case of silver jewelry without gold plating) is to place the jewelry inside a damp cloth with baking soda, let it sit for a while, then clean the residue with water and dry it.

Care of gold-plated jewelry

Gold-plated jewelry requires special care to preserve its color and shine:

  • Avoid getting them wet to prevent wear of the gold plating.
  • Do not use chemical cleaning products on jewelry.
  • Remove gold-plated jewelry before showering or swimming.
  • Gently wipe with a soft, dry cloth after each use.
  • Store jewelry in a dry, dark place, preferably in an individual case or bag.

Important: Gold plating, by nature, wears out over time, therefore, at Pangea we cannot guarantee that the gold plating on our pieces is permanent. Gold-plated pieces are more fragile and susceptible to losing their color over time. The speed at which this color disappears depends on multiple factors, such as the use of chemicals on the skin, the level of body sweating, and even the pH of each person's skin. For this reason, it is especially important to take proper care of your gold-plated jewelry.
